Therapy for Couples
(IBCT, EFCT)
Over time, many couples develop communication issues that begin to repeat over time. These issues can lead to arguments where nothing ever seems to get resolved and neither person feels understood by the other. I help couples address communication issues so they can resolve disagreements more effectively.
Common issues I help couples navigate include differing values and beliefs, parenting styles, finances, work-life balance, household responsibilities, family dynamics, intimacy concerns, and rebuilding broken trust. I also help couples set themselves up for success for planned transitions in the relationship (e.g., moving in together, getting engaged, getting married, starting a family).
Couple therapy can help partners understand each other and communicate better, strengthen their emotional and physical connection, prepare for big changes, and remember why you got together in the first place. If both partners wish to reconnect and grow together, I can help you rekindle your connection—no matter the distance.
Couple therapy begins with a comprehensive assessment so I can understand what’s happening in the relationship and each partner’s perspective. After the assessment, I share my view of the concerns and how they can be addressed. During subsequent sessions, I help partners rebuild emotional and physical closeness.
